We will invoke Ma’s Presence with chanting, readings, and talks and have time for sharing and questions. We will end with the arati and have simple prasad in the hall. Those who live a distance away will be able to attend Ma Satsang on Zoom and those who missed the satsang can view the recording on our YouTube channel, Sri Anandamayi Ma Satsang West.

An Introduction to Anandamayi Ma
Taught by Prajna Hallstrom, PhD
Textbook: Mother of Bliss: Anandamayi Ma (1896-1982)
Saturdays July 27, and August 3, 10. 17, 24, 31 from 1-3 pm EST
The content of this course will follow the format of the above text, beginning with an examination of the life of Anandamayi Ma. It will go on to focus on Ma as a Hindu woman, Ma as a Hindu saint, Ma as a guru, and Ma as an avataara, or incarnation of God.
We hope to have lively discussions each week based on the readings. We will dive deeply into the question: Who is Ma?
This course will be open to those devoted to Ma as well as those who are exploring different masters as part of their spiritual path. This course will run live on Zoom weekly for six weeks.
Recordings will be available for anyone unable to attend a particular session.

The Teachings of Anandamayi Ma
Taught by Prajna Hallstrom, PhD
Textbook: The Gospel of Shri Anandamayi Ma: Conversations with the Divine Mother, Vols. 1 and 2

This six-week course will be based on Ma’s satsangs (question and answer sessions) transcribed and translated for the above textbook, with assignments beginning with the Introduction to Volume 1 and moving through Volumes 1 and 2.
We will be exploring themes in Ma’s teaching such as Advaita (non-dualism), bhakti (devotion), leading a disciplined life, Ma’s recommended practices, Ma’s Kheyal (Divine Will) and Leela (cosmic play), and Ma’s self-identification. Our class sessions will be primarily discussion, with each of us sharing how we feel we can apply Ma’s teachings in our daily life. We will also share the challenges we have to overcome as we commit to applying them.
This course will run live on Zoom weekly for six weeks. Recordings will be available for anyone unable to attend a particular session.

Other Offerings
Join us on Zoom each Saturday at 9 am EST to chant seven rounds of our beloved Hanuman Chaleesa. We will mute ourselves and sing along with seven different recordings of the Chaleesa from some of our favorite kirtan wallahs: Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Nina Rao, etc. Our community has grown to include chanters from around the world. We hope to chant with you soon! Ram Ram!
